Inquiry

WIN is a great place to start if you've got a business question you need answered or need some input, contacts or assistance to move your career forward. Although WIN is in its early stages of connecting GSB women with other GSB women, the more everyone uses the WIN network to get and give assistance, the more vibrant a network it will become.

Where to Start

The way to go about tapping into the WIN network will depend on what you're looking for - but here are some suggestions:

  • Ask all of your classmates (or any other WIN group) via your WIN class or a WIN group Discussion Board
The Discussion Boards are a place where you can post a specific business question, or get a discussion going among many women on a business topic of interest. The key is whether you and your classmates and other alumnae have signed up for the Discussion Boards - as it will ONLY WORK if there are enough participants. So, make sure you're signed up, and encourage your classmates to do so, too!
  • Contact your Class Captain
Each class has a WIN Class Captain, who has agreed to be a point person for WIN activities. She can follow-up on your inquiry, either by emailing your entire class, working with you to figure out who in the class might be able to help or tapping into other resources through WIN or through the GSB. This is a good route if your inquiry is of a confidential nature.
  • Get in touch with your classmates - or any other alumnae
Use the Women's Directory to find classmates who you think might be able to help. Don't know a classmate that can help? Then use the Directory to search for those who can. You can use the "Search" and "Advanced Search" functions to find women in your industry, in your city or who might work for a particular organization in which you're interested.
  • Contact GSB Alumni Relations
The GSB has designated Susan Austin on the GSB Alumni Relations staff, to be a point person for WIN and inquiries for WIN members. She might be a particularly good person to contact if you think there might be GSB resources that could help, or if your inquiry is confidential. You might be amazed at how much the GSB has to offer all alumni - in areas like job searches, career transitions and contacts.

Interested in Getting More Involved with WIN?

As we continue to build WIN to serve all of the GSB alumnae community, we're sure to need more women to help. If you're interested in getting more involved, contact either Susan Austin, or any member of the Advisory Committee.
