Client Criteria

Verify Your Eligibility

Eligibility for an ACT project is based on the size and stage of your organization, and the scope of the project.

Full Project

Clients must have at least three full-time paid staff members and a minimum annual operating budget of $500,000.

Fast Track Project

Clients must have at least one paid staff member and a minimum annual operating budget of $250,000.

Additional Client Criteria

In addition, all ACT clients must fulfill the following requirements:

Stage and Stability

The organization must have 501(c)(3) status or operate in the public sector. It must be founded three or more years ago. ACT client organizations must have a paid executive director and must not be undergoing a leadership transition or be in the midst of an organizational crisis.

Organizational Commitment

Both senior staff and key board members must have the time and flexibility to meet with ACT team members throughout the project's duration; meetings outside of regular work hours are typical for ACT consultants. Your organization's leadership must also complete a post-project evaluation and a one-year follow-up evaluation.

Community Orientation

Your organization must be a public sector or nonprofit, public benefit organization. Additionally, your organization - and the focus of the project - must not be purely religious or directed toward a specific political party or candidate.

Challenge and Focus

The proposed project must address a high-priority challenge facing your organization. It should be clear, focused, and substantial enough to require ACT involvement for an extended period of time (2-3 months if a Fast Track project and up to 8 months if a Full Project).
